Opinion: What I’ve Observed When Institutions “Apologize” and How They Can Do Better
Stories We're Following: From Julie Roys
This article sums up what I have witnessed through the years so accurately that I almost shouted "YES!" when I read it. I have often wondered why you rarely see institutions, particularly Christian ones, just take ownership and say "I'm sorry."
Even in my personal life I have had people suggest that certain institutions should apologize to my family, but I balk against that simply for the all the reasons that Wade Mullen states in this article. Either an institution gives a repentant, true apology or it's just words that have no meaning.
