Break-away Anglicans launch theological college

OTTAWA, ON—A group of evangelical Anglicans are launching a new theological college in Ottawa, which they hope will become a center of "mainstream, evangelical training and practice."

Ottawa Theological College officially launches mid June. Classes start in September.

"This is our nation's capital," says principal George Sinclair. "There has to be a place here to train evangelical leaders."

Sinclair is pastor of Church of the Messiah, an Anglican Network in Canada (ANiC) congregation which left the Anglican Church of Canada over theological concerns with the direction the denomination was heading.

Sinclair adds that while the school was started out of an ANiC church, the vision is to create a cross-denominational graduate school and lay training institute.
