Business ministry takes mentorship program nationwide
GUELPH, ON - The growth of the Canadian Christian Business Federation (CCBF) also means growth for its INturn program.
The program, run for the last three or four years at Ancaster's Redeemer University College, pairs CCBF members with business students. Now the CCBF is taking the mentorship program nationwide.
"I met with Justin Cooper, [executive director] of Christian Higher Education Canada, who felt the model at Redeemer would be a good model to have across the country," says Keith Knight, CCBF executive director. Knight adds that the hands-on experience has sometimes led to students being hired.
The ministry to Christian businesspeople, which is more than 20 years old, has increased membership by 35 per cent since Knight came on as executive director about a year ago. It will also be launching at least three new chapters in Ontario and chapters in Saskatoon and Edmonton this fall.
Knight will be working with the new Edmonton chapter, along with one in Vancouver to set up INturn programs at the The King's University College, Trinity Western University and Regent College.
