It Is Enough
Contrary to popular belief, there is an absolute truth to our existence; God is the loving creator and ruler of the universe; he sent his Son, Jesus, as an atoning sacrifice for our sins, and if we believe and repent, he will send the Holy Spirit to dwell within us.
The thing I hate most about the Devil is that he knows this to be true! Beyond any shadow of a doubt. And yet his sole aim, every fiber of his being, is bent on convincing us it is not.
He is vengeful, spiteful, wicked. He has been damned to hell for all eternity and he wants to take humanity with him. We are God’s special creation, His adopted children… and Satan hates us for it.
So, when we are laid low; when our doubts and fears seem to crush us beneath their weight, and God seems nowhere near, remember - that is Satan and his demons crowding around your bent, fetal form, shouting at you with all they have that God is not real; God does not care; you are lost.
But all the wailing and screaming of hell does not make it so.
And at such a time, it is enough to whisper into the darkness, “I believe.”
