Pro-life video project help expectant parents “love life”
LONDON, ON—After experiencing the traumatic loss of a grandchild to abortion, award-winning musician and speaker Laurie Marks Vincent has launched a new multi-media project. The Love Life Project is a four-part initiative that seeks to instill value and highlight the pain of abortion.
"The message is that the risk is greater to have an abortion than to give the baby life," Vincent explains. "The torment from an abortion is so astronomical and so much of an upheaval in your life that it is not worth it. It changes you forever."
About a year after her grandchild was aborted, Vincent says she felt the chains of heaviness fall away as she wrote the song "My Deliverer." Aware that God was starting something new, she wrote another song, "This Miracle," which along with its music video makes up the first part of the Love Life DVD.
"'This Miracle' is a message to young [expecting] men and women to think about the potential they have in this new life and to celebrate new life as a miracle," Vincent says. "One of the beautiful things about the music video is that I have the privilege of using footage from an award-winning film of an infant from the time of conception to about 20 weeks."
The music video portrays a young mother and a young couple as they face the stress of surprise pregnancies. Clips from "I want to call her Stacey" show the babies interacting with the mothers' emotions and stress levels.
"Part two on the DVD is the whole short film 'I want to call her Stacey,'" says Vincent. "It helps people see things from the baby's perspective and how [babies] respond to stress and pain."
The DVD will also include testimonies from men and women who have been affected by abortion and quick facts about the emotional, physical and psychological effects of abortion.
Upon its release in 2014, Vincent plans to distribute the project online and to pregnancy counselling centres and "any organization with a pro-life mandate."
"Music and video can be a powerful tool to reach places where words might not be enough. It's a project that conveys a message of love, valuing your life and the life that you are now carrying."
