Time well spent

Two years have flown by since Liz Fehr joined the ChristianWeek team. When publisher Brian Koldyk and I first introduced her to staff back then, we said: "It won't take you long to discover why we offered her the job and were delighted when she accepted. Here are three good words to describe her: friendly, flexible, capable and mature. (That's four, but who's counting?)"

It's been a fascinating two-year journey together, and we regret to say that Liz is currently getting ready to move on to other things. "The office has been a wonderful place at which to serve," she told us recently. "I love all the engaging people I've gotten to know here."

While that comment was directed to the staff at this newspaper, Liz's influence and contagious enthusiasm have spread much further. It was her voice you heard when you called the office to renew a subscription or claim a prize. She is the one who kept all the records and coordinated deliveries. She was the hub, the point of contact connecting much of the public and business traffic at ChristianWeek with our various departments.

About the time this edition of the newspaper hits the stands, Liz will be leaving our employ. In due course we'll be introducing you to her replacement, but right now we simply want to say thank you to Liz for being a bright presence in a good season together. We at the office will miss your vivacious presence and fine sense of humour. We will miss the stories - joyful and sad - you share from personal experience.

Thank you, for time well spent.
